Entry fee: $15 advance; $20 at site; discounts available for advance registration (see website).
Round times: Round 1 begins 9:00 am. Projected starting times for rounds 2, 3 and 4 are 10:05, 11:10 and 12:15 respectively; however, because the next round in each section will begin as soon as possible after the previous round, rounds 2, 3 and 4 are likely to begin earlier than these projected times. The tournament should end by 1:30 pm.
Background: "Cincinnati Scholastic Chess" is proud to re-introduce the Northern Kentucky Scholastic Open for the first time in 16 years! This tournament kicks off the Cincinnati Scholastic Chess Series, created in 2007 to help bridge the gap for youngsters between Queen City Classic tournaments.

Hold the date for the 2nd annual KCA Grade Level Championship. Open to all Kentucky scholastic players. Only play others in your same grade. Entry fee will be $20 and the tournament will be held at Kentucky Country Day School in Louisville like last year.

Hold Saturday February 28, 2009 for the KCA State Scholastic Team Championships. This tournament will be held in Louisville, Kentucky. Teams earn invitations through the quad-regional qualifying tournaments. Details of this event and the quad regional qualifying tournaments will follow soon.
Hold the weekend of March 14-15, 2009 for the KCA State Scholastic Individual Championships and K-1 State Team Championship. This tournament will be held at the Holiday Inn University Plaza Hotel and Convention center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Details will follow soon.
